How to focus on your personal values over the Easter weekend

Posted on 25 March 2016

 Hello!

Wow! It’s Spring already?! Where has the time gone?!

With the essence of time in mind and the long, Easter weekend approaching, we’ve been considering just how imperative it is to take a break, enjoy some down time. Allowing our bodies time to recuperate by thriving off the simpler things in life is often a stress reliever...

Go for a long walk
Bake a cake
Enjoy time with loved ones

Too often we can be caught up in a whirl of ‘what’s next!?’, constantly chasing our tail, striving to achieve and succeed the next thing on our ‘to-do’ lists (which is no mean feat), however, this can be incredibly draining.

Listening to your body is so, SO important… sometimes you just have to let go and stop. Take a break, take a step back and rejuvenate. Relaxing gives your mind and body time to recover from the everyday stresses of life and subsequently we are able to assess much better and take a more pragmatic look at what’s to follow.

It is paramount to remind ourselves that downtime is actually an investment; whether you’re a business owner; an employee or a busy mum on the go. It is vital to invest time with those you love, pursue hobbies which light that spark in your heart, or simply take time to enjoy the everyday, without feeling guilty.

"As a working mum it's so easy to get caught in a never ending spiral of business related admin and household chores... so this weekend i’m going to enjoy a slower pace, enjoy time with my family and turn off notifications on my phone".

A FEW THINGS TO BE MINDFUL OF THIS WEEKEND...

1. Wake up and acknowledge personal attributes and qualities and focus more on these in the long-run.

2. Take pride in achievements; don’t procrastinate about the previous week, instead look forward to what's being achieved on a day to day basis - we’re all human...!

3. Don't have a schedule - follow your heart on the day + take time to do what you love

4. Switch off phones! Say goodbye to social media, if even just for a day! Looking at what everyone else is up to can spark an array of energies.

5. Get lost in a good book

6. Venture somewhere different - use our 'me' time more wisely

7. Turn the laptop off!

8. Let the 'to-do' list wait.

Don’t forget the clocks go forward on Sunday (27th) at 2am which sadly means one hour less sleep BUT a big hooray for longer, lighter evenings!

We truly hope you all enjoy a fantastic Easter weekend and we look forward to hearing how you enjoyed some 'time-out'!
